Thought Provokes or Thought Chokes?

Perhaps writers write because they have no one to safely have those conversations with? 

Most of the "real" world is not set up for free discussion. People stay in their area of comfort.

A different philosophy is, at best, unwelcome. At worst? Well, the world has no shortage of bullies who don't even realize that is what they are. They have their way of defending what they "KNOW" is right.  So one ends up dancing around so many subjects in conversation...

In my shameful situation, I start with weather, gas prices and then talk about my ill health so I sound like such a narcissistic attention whore that hopefully I never have to talk again. In some situations,it is best to not be liked than banned. 

Writing is a way of having that uncomfortable conversation somewhere else.  Writing is planting the seeds for another time, another place. Ideas live on. Even bad ideas find a way. 

Question everything. Try to turn the questions into a joke of some sort. It's like wrapping a dogs pill in cheese.
